How to Kill Moulds Naturally

Do you know that moulds can be found in clean bathrooms and
kitchens too? Well this is because it thrives in moisture. Not to mention the
high humidity in Hong Kong provides a good environment for moulds to grow. It’s
important to fight mold as soon as you find it, because there are about 50
kinds of mould that are toxic to humans, plus it can cause damage to your house
that’s very expensive to repair.

There are a number of products you can use to get rid of moulds,
including bleach, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide. These products just make the
surface look clean. But the truth is these just removed the dead moulds on the
surface. They are not very effective in killing the roots or the spores that’s
why the moulds keep growing back.

So, to kill moulds and its spores down to the roots, we
recommend using these green techniques to fight mold and protect your family
from harmful chemicals.

Check for Moulds

The first step to removing and killing moulds is to check for the presence of moulds.

Mould can be black, yellow or white in color and has a pungent musty odour. Note that moulds are mostly found where there is moisture, so bathrooms and kitchens are common areas for mould growth.

Mould can also grow in areas with inadequate air flow and high humidity. In that case, you should also check in closets, wardrobes or storage areas.

Another area to watch out for is any room where there is an air conditioner. If you notice a musty odour when you start up your AC, then it has become a breeding ground for moulds. And your AC is spreading it to your room and in the air you breathe!!
Moulds on Ceiling

Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) oil is a great choice if you are looking for a natural way to kill mould. considered to be nature’s best fungicide. It effectively kills mould spores throughout the home. To ensure effective removal of mould, use pure tea tree oil. To use tea tree oil in removing moulds, simply add 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil to 2 cups of water. Pour the mixture in a spray bottle. Spray directly to affected surfaces then leave for an hour. Scrub off the debris with a scrubber or an old toothbrush. With a natural all-purpose cleanser and a dry cloth or sponge, wipe the area clean.

Another method is using Gelair All Purpose Steriliser and Cleanser. With this, you won’t have to prepare your own tea tree cleanser. Gelair All Purpose Steriliser and Cleanser already has the right amount of tea tree oil. Simply spray this to the surface with mould, leave for an hour and wipe with a dry cloth or sponge.
