Tea Tree Essential Oil

ORGANIC TEA TREE

Organic Tea Tree

Melaleuca alternifolia

Botanical Properties

The tea tree is a very resistant tree, where in the wild it can reach 8 m in height. In cultivation, to facilitate production, it is maintained as a bush. The tea tree belongs to the Myrtaceae family. It has evergreen, lanceolate, light green foliage and its white flowers grouped in spikes or clusters diffuse a powerful aroma.

Origin and history

Captain Cook brought the term “Tea tree” back to melaleuca when returning from his expeditions in the 13th century, because the leaves of the tea tree were used as a substitute for tea by British sailors.
