Rosemary Essential Oil

Rosmarinus officinalis camphoriferum

Rosemary is a small shrub of the Lamiaceae family. It is an integral part of the Provençal landscape and Mediterranean "clichés". In cultivation, rosemary can reach 2 m, its needle-shaped leaves are evergreen, green on top and gray-white on the underside. Its flowers, presented in clusters, take on a pale blue or purple color during the flowering period.

Origin and history

Originally from the Mediterranean basin, rosemary covers the sunny scrublands of the South. A condiment herb, its fresh or dried leaves are used in “sun cuisine”: bouquet garni, marinade, grilled meats, sauces. A melliferous plant, honey from rosemary is fragrant, sweet and delicate. Finally, the list of phytotherapeutic virtues of rosemary is as long to describe as its history and its legends.
